About me
I'm a BACP Registered integrative psychotherapist offering online therapy for adults across the UK. I became a therapist because I believe that life can feel like more than something to get through. That beneath the exhaustion, the disconnection, and the quiet sense that something isn't quite right, there is the possibility of something different - a way of living that feels genuinely yours.
My aim is to create a safe, thoughtful space where that process can begin: where you can explore your experiences with honesty, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and begin to move towards a life you don't feel the need to escape from.
My Approach
My practice is integrative, drawing from a range of therapeutic perspectives with
a strong psychodynamic foundation.
Together, we may explore:
● How past experiences shape present patterns
● Relational dynamics in your life
● Emotional responses that feel difficult to understand
● Unconscious processes influencing behaviour and relationships
By developing insight into these patterns, therapy creates the conditions for meaningful and lasting change - not just a reduction in symptoms, but a genuine shift in how you experience yourself and your life.
The Story Behind the Name
There is a well-known story about the Chinese bamboo tree.
For the first five years after it is planted, almost nothing appears to happen above the surface. It must be watered and tended consistently, while its roots develop and strengthen underground.
Then, within a matter of weeks, it can grow dramatically.
Does it grow in five weeks, or five years?
The answer, of course, is both. That growth is only possible because of what developed quietly beneath the surface.
Bamboo Culture Counselling is grounded in this understanding. Human growth is rarely immediate or linear. Much of the most meaningful change happens beneath the surface as we begin to understand ourselves more deeply, build stronger internal foundations, and gently create the conditions where we feel safe enough to feel again.
My aim is to offer a space where that process can unfold - so that you can move from simply existing, to genuinely living.
